PATIENT INFORMATION LEAFLET (PIL) KATINKO® LAVENDER OIL LINIMENT
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Methyl Salicylate + Camphor + Menthol 2 g/1 g/0.5 g per 100 mL KATINKO® Lavender Oil Liniment is a clear to pale yellow semi-viscous liquid packed in a glass bottle.
WHAT IS IN KATINKO® LAVENDER OIL LINIMENT?
KATINKO® Lavender Oil Liniment contains Methyl Salicylate, Camphor and Menthol.
METHYL SALICYLATE is a counterirritant that is used to produce surface irritation of the skin, thereby counteracting underlying pain or discomfort. It causes reddening of the skin due to increase blood flow and it relieves pain in various muscle and skeletal pain.
CAMPHOR is a topical pain reliever that is used to treat skin conditions like itching and irritations and it improves respiratory function and inflammatory conditions.
MENTHOL is a crystalline compound with a cooling and minty odor that is used for pain relief (analgesia) for minor muscle and joint pain.
Other ingredients are Mineral oil and Lavender oil.

WHAT IS KATINKO® LAVENDER OIL LINIMENT USED FOR?
KATINKO® Lavender Oil Liniment is used on the skin for the relief of discomfort associated to:

Headache

Muscle pain

Skin itch primarily caused by insect bites

Travel sickness
-
Flatulence (passing gas from the digestive system out of the back passage or farting).
HOW MUCH AND HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU USE KATINKO® LAVENDER OIL LINIMENT?
Apply generously to the affected area as often as required or repeat the application 3 to 4 times daily until relieved. Use this medication as directed by your doctor or follow all directions on the product package. If you have any questions, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
WHEN SHOULD YOU NOT USE KATINKO® LAVENDER OIL LINIMENT?

Allergic to the active ingredients or any other ingredients of KATINKO® Lavender Oil Liniment.

Children 2 years of age and below

Pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers.

CARE THAT SHOULD BE TAKEN WHEN USING KATINKO® LAVENDER OIL LINIMENT
Wash your hands after application to avoid contact with your eyes, nose, mouth, and other body parts.
UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS OF KATINKO® LAVENDER OIL LINIMENT
KATINKO® Lavender Oil Liniment is generally safe to use within the recommended dose and duration of treatment. Skin redness and mild itching or stinging sensation at the site of application may occur. Tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly if any of these effects last or get worse.
WHAT OTHER MEDICINE OR FOOD SHOULD BE AVOIDED WHILE USING KATINKO® LAVENDER OIL LINIMENT?

HOW SHOULD YOU KEEP THIS MEDICINE?
Keep out of reach of children. Keep the medicine in a dry, well-ventilated area at temperatures not exceeding 30°C.
WHEN SHOULD YOU CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR?
If there is an excessive irritation or if there is redness on the skin for more than a week.
