PATIENT INFORMATION LEAFLET (PIL) KATINKO® SPORTS SPRAY

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Methyl salicylate + Menthol + Camphor 8 mg/7.5 mg/2.6 mg (KATINKO® Sports) Spray is an aerosol spray packed in an aluminum can.

WHAT IS IN KATINKO® SPORTS SPRAY?

KATINKO® Sports Spray contains Methyl Salicylate, Menthol, and Camphor. 

 

METHYL SALICYLATE is a counterirritant that is used to produce surface irritation of the skin, thereby counteracting underlying pain or discomfort. It causes reddening of the skin due to increased blood flow and it relieves pain in various muscle and skeletal pain.

 

MENTHOL is a crystalline compound with a cooling and minty odor that is used for pain relief (analgesia) for minor muscle and joint pain.

 

CAMPHOR is a topical pain reliever used to treat skin conditions like itching and irritations and improve respiratory function and inflammatory conditions.

 

Other ingredients are Isopropyl alcohol and Nitrogen.

WHAT IS KATINKO® SPORTS SPRAY USED FOR?

KATINKO® Sports Spray is used to help relieve minor pains and discomfort associated with muscle pain, back pain, bruises, cramps, sprains, and joint pain.

HOW MUCH AND HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU USE KATINKO® SPORTS SPRAY?

Try a small area first. Then spray 2-3 bursts. Repeat up to 3 times per day. Use KATINKO® Sports Spray as directed by your doctor or follow all directions on the product package. If you have any questions, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

 

WHEN SHOULD YOU NOT USE THIS MEDICINE?

  • Allergic to the active ingredients or any ingredients of KATINKO® Sports Spray. 

  • Children 2 years of age and below

  • Pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers.

CARE THAT SHOULD BE TAKEN WHEN USING KATINKO® SPORTS SPRAY

Wash your hands after application to avoid contact with your eyes, nose, mouth, and other body parts.
 

UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS OF KATINKO® SPORTS SPRAY

KATINKO® Sports Spray is generally safe to use within the recommended dose and duration of treatment. Skin redness and mild itching or stinging sensation at the site of application may occur. Tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly if any of these effects last or get worse.

 

WHAT OTHER MEDICINE OR FOOD SHOULD BE AVOIDED WHILE USING KATINKO® SPORTS SPRAY?

No listed drug interactions with other drugs.

 

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF OVERDOSE

  • Severe redness of the skin

  • Severe burning sensation 

  • Skin irritation or rashes

 

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU HAVE APPLIED MORE THAN THE RECOMMENDED DOSAGE? 

Consult a doctor if needed.

HOW SHOULD YOU KEEP KATINKO® SPORTS SPRAY?

Keep out of reach of children. Keep KATINKO® Sports Spray in a dry, well-ventilated area at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. 

 

WHEN SHOULD YOU CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR?

If there is an excessive irritation or if there is redness on the skin for more than a week.
