What is in KATINKO® 70% Isopropyl Alcohol?

KATINKO® 70% Isopropyl Alcohol contains Isopropyl Alcohol.

ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL acts as a disinfectant killing all surface microorganisms. It is used to disinfect hands and equipment surfaces in pharmaceuticals. 70% isopropyl alcohol solution kills microorganisms by dissolving the plasma membrane of the cell wall.

Other ingredients are Water, Glycerin, Menthol, Camphor, Eucalyptus Oil and Lavender Oil.

What is KATINKO® 70% Isopropyl Alcohol used for?

KATINKO® Isopropyl Alcohol is used as an external antiseptic/disinfectant for the prevention of topical infections associated with burns or minor cuts/scrapes.

How should you use KATINKO® 70% Isopropyl Alcohol?

To sanitize hands: Scrub hands and arms with soap and water. Rinse with water and then scrub with ethyl alcohol.

For small parts: Apply a small amount of this product to your skin using a clean cotton ball, cotton swab, or cotton gauze. Throw away the cotton applicator and use a piece of cotton if you need to apply more ethyl alcohol.

To use Isopropyl Alcohol for sore muscles: Apply a generous amount to the skin and rub in until the alcohol dries.

When should you not use KATINKO® 70% Isopropyl Alcohol?

It is not advisable to use Isopropyl alcohol on open wounds or on sunburned, windburned, dry, chapped, or irritated skin.

  • If this product gets in your eyes, nose, mouth, or rectum, rinse with water.
  • Ethyl alcohol is flammable. Do not use near high heat or open flame.
  • Ethyl alcohol is not a substitute for other types of alcohol. Do not drink.
Other medicines and Isopropyl alcohol

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. It is not likely that other drugs you take orally or inject will have an effect on topically applied isopropyl alcohol.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

There is no evidence to suggest that isopropanol, at concentrations that do not affect the mother, can affect the health of the unborn child.

Undesirable effects of KATINKO® 70% Isopropyl Alcohol

Like all medicines, this can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The side effects below may happen with this medicine.

Stop taking Ethyl alcohol if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Get medical help if it happens.

What other medicine or food should be avoided while using KATINKO® 70% Isopropyl Alcohol?

What should you do if you miss a dose?

Since Ethyl alcohol is used when needed, it does not have a regular dosing schedule.

Storage
Keep out of reach of children. Keep this in a dry, well-ventilated area at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Do not use it after the expiry date indicated in the package.
